The White Horse Hotel
Risby / Saxham

Newmarket 8 miles, Bury St Edmunds 4 miles

Welcome

The White Horse Hotel is a beautiful building with parts of it dating back 500 years. It was built to give rest, food and drink to weary travelers on the Newmarket Road. It is ideally located on a two mile returning access to and from junction 41 off the A14.

New mini busThe Hotel's long and interesting history has talk of three ghosts and lights hovering over it which spectacularly lit the night sky. The outside and ground floor trading areas of the building have been fully renovated. We have the Worcester Bar with an oak floor cafe appearance. The Palmerston lounge is a relaxed dining area leading into the Sutton Dining Room both creating our elegant 30 cover restaurant. Then we have the Ascot Servery where we serve our carvery and cold table foods and where we have our full size wine chiller stocked with our interesting white wines and champagnes. Our kitchen is partitioned off by a Norman Church lead light glass panel which is interior lit to show off its delicate structure.

The centre of the Hotel is three stories with an entrance pillared portico at the ground level and two balconies above. The refurbished floors provide seven en suite bedrooms. Outside is a front area to park 10 cars and a side car park for another 30 cars.

We have a lovely large Beer Garden with our exotic Aotearoa cocktail bar serving daily cocktails and other fun things to eat and drink. We have music & garden games.

Our Chefs are creative and provide excellent meals with changing bar restaurant and specials board menus.

Our guests have rated us an average 8.6 out of 10. These rates are collected and published by an independent site (accurate as at 23/11/07).
